he put the phone face-down and actually heard me

took him forever, and me almost giving up first, but he sat down, flipped his phone over, and just… listened. didn't try to fix it, didn't get defensive, just heard me out. i didn't even realize how braced i'd been until my shoulders dropped like two inches. small thing. felt like everything.
